| Candy Jacobs Interview (December 2009)
Birthday: June 12, 1990 Hometown: Tegelen, The Netherlands Currently Reside: The Netherlands Started Skating: 2003 Sponsors: Etnies, Reell Denim, Blackriver, Left Skateshop, Skull Candy, Area 51, True Magazine How were you introduced to skateboarding and what got you started? We had this little skatepark in our area and I wanted to go there. My Mom was like, ok, I'll drop you here and be back in 2 hours. Since then I've been addicted! Do you remember what your first setup was? It was a board from a toyshop, but my first 'pro' setup was from Blind. Were there any early influences on your skating? Not really. What is the best and worst thing about your hometown? The best is some of my best friends live here. The worst is the weather sucks, it's small and for party's you have to go to another city. Besides skateboarding, what do you like to do in your spare time? I like to hang with friends, listen and make music, and I like to read. What is your typical day like? Wake up, breakfast, go to school, skate, eat, chill a little bit, maybe a party, computer and then to sleep. Do you prefer to skate with guys or girls? Guys and Girls, I love to skate with guys because they motivate me to do tricks higher, better and bigger. I love to skate with girls because it doesn't happen a lot and they motivate me to do new tricks. Where do you like to skate? Everywhere it is possible! Who do you like to skate with? My friends, new people, alone, I don't care as long as I can skate! What kind of music do you listen to? Pff... that's a hard question, I listen from Reggae, to punk, to hiphop, to techno, to rock. So pretty much everything. What is something most people don't know about you? I'm studying to be a social pedagogic worker. So far, what have been some of the highlights of your skateboarding? 1st European Championship 2009, 1st Barcelona Extreme Sports Festival 2009 and 7th Dew Tour Boston 2009. 2009 has been a good year for me! What do you have planned for this year? Pretty much do whatever I can! Skate, Chill, Party, Jump Parachute, Dance, Shout everything! Shout outs and thanks? Thanks to my sponsors, TheSideProject.com, my parents, my friends and everybody who supports me! Thank you!!!
